The Story Behind Bleedin’ Iconic
It all started with people saying the same thing over and over: “You should put your art on t-shirts and bags!” I’d just smile and say, “Ah yeah, maybe someday.” But the idea wouldn’t go away. Then one day, my friend Louisa turned to me and said, “Why not create a whole brand around it? Something that reflects you – your love of fun, colour and a bit of attitude.”
And that’s when Bleedin’ Iconic was born.
If you know me, you know I’m either in head-to-toe colour or all black – there’s no in-between. So, naturally, the first drop had to reflect that: oversized black tees and canvas totes (because they don’t show the dirt as quick!) and a mint-green beanie in my favourite shade of turquoise, embroidered with fluorescent yellow – a little nod to my love of neons.
The name Bleedin’ Iconic came easily. The Poolbeg Chimneys, which kickstarted my artistic journey, have always been “bleedin’ iconic” to me – and so are all of us. This brand is a celebration of Dublin, of individuality, and of wearing a bit of art, colour, and confidence wherever you go.
